我們的拇指總是向著自己，稱讚自己嘛，食指則是指著別人——啊，某某你錯了，你有察覺到嗎？
7:1-2 耶穌告訴我們不要批評別人，反要檢查自己的動機和品德。你是否發覺自己很容易誇大別人的過失，而忽視自己的問題？我們常想去改掉別人身上的壞習慣，其實，自己也有同樣的壞習慣。若你正準備去批評別人，請先去檢討自己是否也該受同樣的批評。首先要判斷自己，然後用愛心去饒恕和幫助你身邊的人。
不要論斷人——那我不就成了不會思考的人，不可以啊……
7:1-5 耶穌所說“你們不要論斷人”的意思，是反對那種偽善和審判的態度——為要抬高自己而貶低別人，但祂並不是一概而論反對所有批判思考，只是我們要作出辨別。耶穌教訓我們要認出假教師來（7:15-23），保羅也教導我們在教會裡應該有紀律（參林前5:1-2），相信神是最終的審判者（參林前4:3-5）。
這個比喻實在有意思……
7:6 根據律法，豬是不潔淨的動物（參申14:8），任何人接觸過不潔淨的動物就會在“禮儀上不潔”。耶穌教導我們不應該把神聖的教導交託給不聖潔的人，把神聖的觀念教導給不想聽和不肯接受的人只是枉費心機。這並不表示我們不要向未信的人傳講神的道，而是應當有智慧去分辨所教導的對象，這樣才不會浪費時間和精力。
我心痴尋，為何我卻總找不到神？
7:7-8 耶穌告訴我們要恆切、堅定地尋求神，但人往往未曾努力就放棄了，然後斷定不能尋見神。認識神需要付上信心、專心和貫徹到底的恆心，耶穌已保證我們所付出的努力必得到報酬。不要放棄尋求神，要繼續努力尋求，祂必賜予你更多的忍耐、智慧、對祂的認識、愛與瞭解。
