11:1-2 這天是星期天，耶穌將在這星期裡被釘十字架。逾越節也快將開始，猶太人從羅馬帝國各地區來到耶路撒冷，參與這為期一週的慶典，為記念神曾領他們的祖先離開埃及（參出12:37-51）。群眾中有許多人曾經聽說過或見過耶穌，正期待祂往聖殿去（參約11:55-57）。
耶穌不是以好戰君王的姿態，騎著戰馬或坐著戰車到來，而是像先知所預言的，騎著驢駒，如溫柔和平的君王進入耶路撒冷（參亞9:9）。耶穌知道那些在聖殿聽祂教導的人，將各自回到自己的家鄉，把彌賽亞的信息傳遍各地。

Passover is also about to start, the Jews from the regions of the Roman Empire came to Jerusalem to take part in this week-long celebration for a couple of days God had been leading their ancestors left Egypt (a reference 12:37-51). There are many people who have seen or heard of Jesus, he is looking forward to go to Temple (about Senate 11:55-57).
Jesus is not a gesture to the monarch militants, riding horses or sitting arrival of the tanks, but as predicted by the prophet, horse riding a donkey, such as the Prince of Peace gentle into Jerusalem (cf. 9:9 Asia). Jesus in the temple to listen to those who know him to teach people to return to their respective hometowns, to spread information around the Messiah.
