| 42:1 | 雅各見埃及有糧，就對兒子們說：“你們為甚麼彼此觀望呢？ |

埃及的食糧，挽救四周的人之生命……
42:1-2 各地皆以穀物作糧食，幾乎人人靠它維生。它可以曬乾收藏，比蔬菜、乳酪製品、肉類等更能長久保存。所以穀類極其重要，人有時甚至把它當作錢幣來使用，以物易物。
雅各為甚麼特別偏愛小兒子？
42:4 雅各特別喜歡便雅憫。他是雅各年老時所生最小的兒子，也是他愛妻拉結所生的；且是她兩個兒子中的“僅存者”，因為雅各以為約瑟早已死了。
約瑟是欺負他的兄長嗎？還是 ……
42:7 約瑟本來可以立即向哥哥們表明自己的身分。由於他對哥哥們的最後印象，就是他們把他賣為奴隸，所以他決定先試驗他們，好知道他們現在是仍奸詐邪惡如故，還是已經改變了。

42:4 like James Benjamin. He was born Jacob when they grow old youngest son, his beloved wife Rachel born; and her two sons in the "left", as James Joseph has long been thought dead.
