你知道逾越節的故事嗎？
14:1 逾越節是以色列人記念神讓祖先得自由的日子。那天晚上，神的使者越過有羊羔的血為記號的房子，把其他房子中的長子殺掉（參12章）。逾越節後，是連續七日的無酵節。無酵節是以色列人記念祖先急忙逃離埃及時沒時間用酵來發麵的節期。過節期間，猶太人聚集一起吃一頓特別的筵席，有羊羔、酒、苦菜和無酵餅，後來整個星期都稱為逾越節。
14:3 伯大尼位於橄欖山東面的斜坡上，耶路撒冷則在西面。耶穌的朋友拉撒路、馬利亞和馬大三姐弟都住在這個城裡。他們當時也在一起吃晚餐（參約11:2）。用香膏抹耶穌腳的女人就是馬利亞（參約12:1-3）。
他們的不悅，是因為……我會嗎？
14:4-5 馬可寫“有些人”不高興，約翰則特別指明這人是猶大（參約12:4）。猶大不是關心窮人，只是貪心。他替耶穌管錢，常中飽私囊（參約12:6）。他當然想賣掉這瓶名貴的香膏，所得的錢也就歸他保管了。
