18:20-33 亞伯拉罕改變了神的心意嗎？當然沒有。其實是神改變了亞伯拉罕的心意。亞伯拉罕知道神是公義的，並且要刑罰罪，但他有可能懷疑神的慈愛。他似乎想探測神的心意，要知道祂究竟有多少憐憫。他與神交談後，相信祂是慈愛公義的。我們的禱告不會改變神的心意，但是可以幫助我們明白祂的心意，並改變我們的心意。
神為甚麼容許亞伯拉罕懷疑祂的公義、並為罪惡的城市求情？
18:20-33 亞伯拉罕知道神一定刑罰罪惡，但是他也知道神對罪人是滿有憐憫的。神知道在所多瑪城裡不會有十個義人，但是祂滿有慈愛，讓亞伯拉罕為那座城求情，甚至幫助亞伯拉罕的侄兒羅得逃出所多瑪，然後才將那城毀滅。神不是以毀滅惡人為樂，但祂必要消滅罪惡。神既公義又有憐憫，我們要因祂的慈愛臨到我們而感謝祂。
