【本報綜合報導】子宮頸癌疫苗擴大到45歲前婦女也有效了！默沙東藥廠日前在中國北京舉行的第24屆「國際乳突病毒研討會」公布最新報告指出，在24到45歲婦女身上，發現四價人類乳突病毒疫苗可預防9成由第6、11、16與18型HPV所引發的持續性感染、低度子宮頸異常與癌前病變，以及外生殖器病變。據東森新聞報報導，這份新研究報告共計有超過3800名婦女參與，主要的研究對象為並未感染疫苗所含HPV類型，以及完成3劑疫苗接種後仍未被相關HPV類型感染的婦女，其中有將近1/3(31%)來自亞洲，分為對照組及安慰劑兩組對照，。
由於四價人類乳突病毒疫苗旨在預防第6、11、16與18型HPV引發的疾病，並非用於治療已經發生的感染，因此參與此研究的婦女過去不曾接受環形電切術或子宮切除術，過去5年經組織切片檢查診斷未曾發現子宮頸HPV疾病，或生殖器疣病史。
這份研究經過平均1.65年的追蹤後發現，安慰劑組有41個由HPV 6、11、16或18型引發的持續性感染、CIN或生殖器疣與陰道及外陰病變病例，而接受四價人類乳突病毒疫苗者只有4個病例，發生率降低超過9成(91%)。此外，也發現四價人類乳突病毒疫苗可預防83%僅由HPV 16與18型引發的持續性感染、低度子宮頸異常與癌前病變，以及外生殖器病變。
交叉分析結果指出，四價人類乳突病毒疫苗可100%預防由HPV6與11型引發的持續性感染、低度子宮頸異常與癌前病變，以及外生殖器病變，此外，四價人類乳突病毒疫苗可減少9成以上與HPV 16/18型有關的子宮頸抹片異常機率發生。
對於這項最新研究結果出爐，默沙東表示，最快會在年底前將所有資料提交給美國「食品與藥物管理局」，爭取將45歲以下婦女列入子宮頸癌疫苗的適應症。
此外，研究中也發現注射子宮頸癌疫苗可能出現，包括疼痛、腫大、紅斑、發燒、噁心、搔癢症與頭昏，不良反應率比對照組皆大於1%。
