首要應控制血管疾病的危險因子,即控制血壓、血脂,其次是多食抗氧化食物、多運動減少自由基,也就能減緩退化,第三點則是多從事動腦、休閒活動,許多研究發現,後天鍛練腦力能有效延緩腦部退化。

一、運動是良方

榮新診所副院長何一成說明,體能運動可以刺激腦部正常功能,不僅能清除過多脂肪,使血管不易阻塞,還可以生產好的荷爾蒙,如腦內啡、正腎上腺素都可以活躍腦細胞,增加大腦血流量,提供更多養分、能量,也就不容易「短路」。

國泰醫院神經內科主治醫師陳仁澤說,慢跑、走路都是相當好的運動,不少研究證實,如此方便的運動就能有效降低罹患失智症的機率,當走路愈來愈快,大腦皮質區也會隨之運作。

二、飲食有幫助

陳仁澤建議均衡飲食,輔以抗氧化食物、少吃垃圾食物、不抽菸,就能保護腦細胞功能。
