為何一定要耶穌死在十字架上？
15:13 釘十字架是羅馬人懲罰造反者的刑法，羅馬政府只會釘死奴隸或非羅馬公民。把耶穌釘十字架，就表示祂是造反者，是奴隸，而不是祂所自稱的王。這正合猶太領袖的心意，因為他們相信被釘十字架是神的詛咒（參申21:23），這樣就能說服百姓，神是咒詛耶穌而不是祝福祂。再者，猶太領袖把釘死耶穌的責任推在羅馬人身上，群眾就不能責怪他們了。
耶穌的死，誰要負責？
15:14-15 其實，每一個人都要對耶穌的死負責：門徒因為驚恐而離棄耶穌，彼得不認祂，猶大出賣祂；曾經跟從祂的群眾袖手旁觀；彼拉多討好群眾，推卸責任；宗教領袖控告祂，促使祂受死；羅馬官兵折磨祂……假如當日你在場，親眼看見這些事發生，你會有甚麼反應呢？
為取悅利己者而犧牲無辜，是政治智慧，是小人所為？
15:15 彼拉多管轄的猶太地區，只是羅馬帝國的一個哨站，由於遠離羅馬，這裡只有少量軍隊駐防。彼拉多最基本的工作是保持管轄區和平。他曾因其管轄區發生幾次暴動而被上司警告。雖然他找不出耶穌的罪，也沒有理由治死祂，但當他聽到猶太群眾的恐嚇，要上告凱撒（參約19:12）時，就猶豫不決了。因為群眾若真的向凱撒上告有暴動，彼拉多的地位和前途就不保了。
取悅他人以求自保，是一件很自然的事——不是？
15:15 雖然根據羅馬法律，耶穌是無辜的，彼拉多卻屈服於政治壓力下，放棄正義，嘗試猜度猶太領袖的意圖，取悅他們以求自保。神對是非曲直立場鮮明，我們若放棄神的立場，根據群眾的意願做決定，就是妥協，目無法紀。神應許要嘉許行為正直的人，而不是取悅所有人的人。

Rome's Jewish fanaticism contempt of the Government and people of Rome false god, who hates being gentile rule, but they hate to pay taxes. Rome officials often have to the Jewish settlement of disputes, and therefore hate the Jews. This is the ripe time for the rebels.
I like these people adapt to, or are still standing on the side of Jesus?
15:8 is probably the group loyal to the leaders of the Jews, but a few days before the disciples and shouting "and scattered high above it" (11:10) Where? Jesus sympathy for those who fear the Jewish leaders are hiding. Perhaps the masses, many of the same day (today known as Palm Sunday) to participate in a procession with palm branches, that Jesus is not to self-government for Rome against the king, then turn around and oppose him.
Pilate also see through the hearts of religious leaders ... ...
