從門徒身上，我看到人性的軟弱……
9:18 門徒為甚麼不能把那污鬼趕出來？他們到村莊傳道，曾經趕出許多污鬼（6:13），也許他們只在那次旅程中有特別的權威，或許他們的信心搖擺不定。馬可記載這件事，是要表明與撒但的爭戰是一場持續的艱苦鬥爭，我們能夠勝過罪惡和試探是因為我們對基督的信心，而非憑自己的本事。

9:18 disciples why can not drive out the evil spirits » They went to the village preacher, was expelled from many evil spirits (6:13), perhaps only in that they have special journey to the authority, their confidence may be wavering. Mark records this matter, and Satan is to show that the war is a continuing struggle hard, we can test is better than evil and because of our confidence in Christ, rather than according to their ability.
