面對困難，我們總是用自己的方法去解決，直到……
14:28 彼得並不是試探神，他是在船上惟一憑信心回應的一個，他那衝動的要求使他經歷了一次神能力的展示。他下沉是因為他的眼目離開了耶穌，集中在身邊的巨浪上，信心便動搖了。我們不可能在水面上行走，但也會經歷艱辛的環境，我們若把注意力集中在困境中的狂風巨浪上，就看不見基督的幫助，一樣會感到失望而沉下去。在困境中保持信心，就是定睛在耶穌身上，不是在我們的不足上。
尋求神的幫助，就是軟弱無用嗎？
14:30-31 雖然我們開始時有良好的動機，但有時我們的信心會動搖，這不一定指我們失敗。當彼得信心動搖時，他能向惟一可幫助他的基督求救；他害怕，但仍看著基督。當你為了圍繞你的麻煩而憂心，懷疑神的臨在或幫助你的能力時，要緊記祂是惟一能真正幫助你的人。
當初你是為了甚麼而尋求祂？你忘了嗎？
14:34-36 革尼撒勒位於加利利海西岸，是一個土地肥沃而水源充足的地區。群眾認識耶穌是大能的醫生，但又有多少人瞭解祂真正的身分呢？他們來到耶穌那裡是為了肉體得醫治，而不是屬靈的醫治；為了延長地上的生命，卻不是為永恆生命的保障打算。人可能為了要從耶穌的生命得著寶貴的教導，或者希望找到除去痛苦的途徑而尋求祂。假若我們尋求耶穌單是為了身體的康復，而不是靈魂的康復；單為仰望祂的幫助，而忽略了祂在我們生命中的永恆計劃，便會失去耶穌完整的信息。惟有當我們真正認識耶穌基督時，才可以欣賞到祂如何使我們的生命得到真正的改變。
明明已交託，在內心卻仍煩躁不安，你的信心哪裡去了？
14:36 根據神的命令，猶太男人穿的長袍的四周要做繸子（參申22:12）。耶穌的時代，這些繸子被視為聖潔的象徵（參23:5）。人們認為要尋求醫治就必須伸手摸這些繸子，這想法是很自然的。但正如那患病的婦人所學到的，他們得醫治不是從耶穌的繸子而來，是從信心來的（參9:19-22）。
